This is my second bowl. Its about 4" tall, and 4 inches wide on the top. It has a cone shape, with a chocked bottom. The blue color gives it a cool feeling. The interesting design gives it a odd but unique concept.
This is my choice project for second quarter. Its a pot, similar to my vase, but squished down, It has a choked top, and a wide base. The light color gives it a soft small feel to it. The glaze color gives it a nice texture looking color to it. Its smooth and shiny.
This is my Planter project. It is about 8" long, and stands at 4-5" tall. It has three holes in the pot part to allow water o drain. it sits on a plate style base to hold any water that spills out. The very exquisite glaze gives this piece a one of a kind look. The combination of glazes in it gives it a shiny, spotted, dark to light gradient style, very eye catching. The form of this object is very interesting. It has two shapes, a bowl and a plate, but it is one.
This vase project is about 4" tall, and about 3" wide on the top. It has a choked opening, and a widened body. The dark glaze givers it a old heavy rustic feel. Originally designed to be a lidded project, it now is a nice little vase/pot. The dark color gives a dark, deep feeling to the opening when you look inside.
This choice pulled pot stands at 4" tall, and 4" wide. Its rough and bumpy exterior gives it a very archaic feel. It has a foliage green glaze, to compliment any flowering beautys that will be placed within.
This is a miniature tea cup. It stands at only 3 1/2 " wide, including the handle, and 2" tall, again, including the handle. Its petite structure gives it a delicate feel. The blank white glaze provided a excellent canvas to add multi color dots, and a decorative line design to give the cup a extra pop. In the inside, it has three colored rings on the bottom, again, giving depth and feel to the overall project. Affixed to the side of the cup, is a thumb sized pulled handle, miniaturized again to match its petite counterpart.
This is a 4 1/2" by 2 " bowl. It has a plain even coat of dark green glaze. There is a slight indentation about mid level on the outside of the bowl, which aides in grip when it contains hot contents. It has a slightly narrower base, and a wider opening on the top. Its a demonstration of symmetrical, and even sides. With the way the bottom half looks compared to the top, separated by the indentation all the way around, gives it a two piece look, dimension, however its only one.
This modified lantern is a combination of the normal lantern base, with a unique top. Instead of a traditional top, I threw a bowl to rest on the top of the lantern. This was a idea in order to transform it into a wax melting scent disperser. It is about 7 1/2 " tall, and 4 inches wide. The pattern on all four sides are different foliage, leaves to be exact, with parts of them cut out like you see above to allow light through. In addition to letting light through, the cut outs define the detail and makes the leaves pop more. It's covered in the dark green glaze, however the scent bowl is a cobalt blue. I used rolled slabs, joined by miniature coils, to seal the spaces between the joined slabs.
